Staff at H&M Distribution in Warrington have helped to raise £1,233 for St Rocco’s Hospice in Cheshire – a charity that provides specialist palliative care and support to people and their families in the Warrington area who are coping with a life-limiting illness.

H&M raised cash for the employees’ nominated charity through a raffle at the end of year party, with staff vying for one of the seven top prizes donated by joint owners, John Hunt and Simon Mulvey. The top prize was £750 cash, followed by £500 cash, a week’s holiday with full pay, a Digital Smart TV, a hamper, champagne and a birthday day off with a £50 gift voucher to help with the celebrations.

Nicola Sherwin, key account manager at H&M, said:

“St Rocco’s Hospice works hard to create a positive, caring environment which supports patients and their families in making every day count. The hospice has a ten bed inpatient unit and a day unit with a range of services including family support, complementary therapies and therapeutic activities. As well as highly trained staff the hospice also has a dedicated team of volunteers on hand. St. Rocco’s also offers support to patients and families in their own homes. Our donation will help them to continue with their valuable work this year and beyond.”

H&M Distribution, which has been part of the Palletways network since 2007, employs more than 130 staff across all its operations in Warrington, St Neots and Gloucester. Its 65-strong fleet handles over 30,000 pallets a month.
